HISTORY

The chestnut framed Cottage on Main is located on the Historical Estate of my Grandfather Dr. Jabez M. Harman. It has served my family for over 100 years as a wood house and saddling area from the late 1800's to 1952 when it was converted into a Clinic by my Father Dr. Christopher Harman. Since his death in 2000, I have struggled to find a purpose for this building. The idea to open a lodge, began with the towns revitalization movement and the fact that in the 40's my Grandmother, Marcella Harman ran a tourist home in my house next door. The creation of The Cottage on Main completes this 110 year old circle through preservation, purpose and hospitality I hope for many years to come.
